Autumn is the most prosperous season in Malinalco. It is the time to reap fields and recollect seasonal fruits, the productivity is so high that a surplus can be separated for winter. It is a great moment to teach families how to process the fruits and vegetables of their municipality, this will help preserve a large amount of food for the rest of the season, and it will help children and their mothers acquire a new trade to improve their economy.
Through this course, families will be taught how to process food without using harmful ingredients, this way children will eat healthier preserves than those found in supermarkets.
Description:
2 days course, one each week.
Work materials:
- 3kg raw sugar
- 1/2 liter olive oil
- 8 cristal flasks
- 1-liter natural vinegar
- 1 cinnamon roll
- 1 branch of aromatic herbs
Lessons: 2 group lessons
- First Lesson – Fruit preserves in jam and syrup.
- Second Lesson – Vegetable preserves in vinegar and oil.
In 2021 we will work with 40 packages, 20 for Pachuquilla and 20 for Monte Grande.
