During winter most of the economical activities in these zones are brought to a stop, because the weather doesn’t allow to cultivate the fields or go outside home. Most families ration the food reaped during the good seasons but as the year ends the food starts to grow scarce. Since there’s no job, young people leave their community and men move abroad to improve the economy of their home, and those who can’t leave to search for a job are left to face a harsh winter.
The program “Shelter and nutrition for children” gives a package of healthy and nutritious food that allows the good development of children and a blanket kit for winter.
Through this aid, children will understand how important it is to eat healthily according to their ages, and promote the consumption of local organic products.
Most of the products in the nutrition package will be acquired from local farmers to activate the economy of the municipality, this package is reserved for families with children younger than 13 years old. This aid will only be given in winter because it’s the season when food is most scarce.
